Gosh, This is Fun!

We had a great weekend! The weather Saturday was so nice. We got up and went to a few yardsales. Even though we started late, we found a few clothes for girls for next to nothing. Then we went to eat at Red Robin (Lina's favorite). Then we went to Walmart and bought a pool! We came home and Lina wanted to swim. Cassidy went down for a nap and we went out. Lina slid down her slide at least 100 times. After about 25 times she climbed up the slide, sat there and out of nowhere says "Gosh, this is fun". We busted out laughing. We couldn't believe she can put things together like that and to hear her squeaky little voice say it is so cute.
Yesterday we went to church and I ended up in the nursery because one, they needed help, but mostly because Cassidy was not happy at all. She's been really attached to me lately, I hope it's just a phase. She slept a little longer in her bed last night, but I still ended up having to get her. I am back in the phase of not being able to fall asleep either. Ugh!, so frustrating. Anyway, here's a video of the fun in the sun.

My Photo is Published

I got my Cloud Collector's Handbook in the mail this week! I may have told some of you that I took this picture a couple of years ago when we first moved to OK. I had never seen a cloud like this. Not long after, I saw a segment on Martha Stewart about the Cloud Appreciation Society. It sounds kind of goofy, but I do appreciate a good view of the sky. So I emailed this pic to them to find out what kind of cloud it was. Well, it's a roll cloud. Anyway, a few months ago they emailed me to ask my permission to use the image in their new handbook, I wouldn't get paid, but I would get 2 copies of the book and a lifetime membership in the Society. I told them sure. So, finally this week, the books came. It's a neat little book and there my little picture is with my name! Kind of neat to be published.

Looking Back

Carolina July 07

I thought it would be neat to compare some pictures of the girls. The top picture is Cassidy on Memorial Day and then the picture of Carolina from a couple of years ago. There is definitely a difference in the hair. I'm also posting a video that my Mom reminded me of. Its Lina chatting away even at 8 or 9 months old. Its pretty cute. I will probably be posting some of these older memories more often. Its fun to look back. No need to waste those thousands of photos I make!
Lina made a funny this morning. She was being pretty whiney and I was trying to get her in her room to get dressed. As she finally came around the corner, she said, in a very dramatic voice, "I've had a hard day". Mind you it was only 8:30 in the morning. Where does she come up with this stuff?

Hope everyone had a great weekend. We did. Just did family things and went to see our friends yesterday in Pryor. Aubrey is doing much better since her surgery! We got pictures made of the girls at JC Penny on Saturday. One hour after I called to make the appointment, Lina rams her toy binoculars into her eye and got a little black bruise. I don't think you can see it in the pics thank goodness. We went to church yesterday and our new Sunday School class. Our old class had kind of dwindled so we combined. I was nervous about it, but we have really enjoyed the past couple of weeks with the new class. Today we're trying to clean up and restock after all of us being home for 2 days. I've posted a short clip of the girls.

The nursery

Someone recently asked to see pics of Cassidy's nursery. There have been a few tweaks since these were made, but this is about what it looks like.

The Bunny

I found my feet!

Lance recently found 3 baby bunnies while mowing our yard. He was able to get his hands on one and let Carolina see it. She loved it of course. He was really cute. Everytime I see this picture, I go away singing "The bunny, the bunny, oh, I love the bunny" (Only Veggie Tale fans can appreciate that).

Check-up

Lina is very into pretending, these are binoculars, or as she sometimes calls them "antreasors"?? Don't ask, I don't know.
Reading to Sissy
Cassidy's 6 mo. check-up was yesterday, she is on track! She has slowed down growing finally, she is now 26 3/4" long, that is the 80th percentile, 16.7 lbs, 63rd per. and her head is now somewhere in the 60 per. I think Dr. Henley thought I was feeding her too much, but since she is not growing to fast, he said it was fine. She is now eating oatmeal and some sweet peas. She's getting really good at eating the solids.
I shot these pictures of the girls yesterday. We were just playing in Cassidy's room and the lighting was nice, so I got my camera out to play. I especially love the one of Cassidy with her tongue out. We are so blessed to have two sweethearts. Carolina has been very into making Cassidy laugh, she'll do whatever she can to get her attention. Then she'll just love on her. This morning she came and kissed her and backed up with her arms spread out wide and said, "I love her soooo much". So sweet. Oh, that reminds me of something she said the other day. We were on the way to town and Lance asked Lina if she wanted to keep Cassidy. She said "yes, and keep Mommy and keep Daddy. I love them!". We just melted.
We went to Wal-mart today, again! and the Library. Lina is now signed up for the summer reading program. She loves to go and pick the first 4 books she can grab. Well, I'll blog more later. The girls are both asleep right now, so I'm off to get something constructive done.
