Where were You April 19, 1995

The RHOK McLinky Monday is to tell your story of where you were April 19,1995. I honestly don't remember much about it. I was a senior in high school in Alabama, so I was in school I'm sure, preoccupied with teenage things. Being so far away and so young I didn't grasp the magnitude of the situation. Fast forward about 15 years and now we live in Oklahoma. I was honored to visit the memorial about 2 years ago. I went to it, still not understanding it, but after going through the museum I was very touched. I couldn't even complete the tour because it was so emotional to see all of those pieces left and knowing that they once belonged to real people. I didn't realize the magnitude of the damage either. How far reaching the devastation was. I am proud to be a part of Oklahoma, if only for a little while.

  2. I'm so glad that the museum can bring the reality of it to the participants. I'm looking forward to going this summer. 15 years seems like a lifetime ago, doesn't it?

  4. Thanks for stopping by and linking up! The memorial is beautiful and I plan on taking the kids this summer. They, too, need to see it, even if they weren't around 15 years ago.
