Picture Day

This is all Lina wanted to do, pretend to fish with her stick

Cassidy loved this egg that matched her dress
I took most of the color out on this one, just for "effect"
Well, yesterday I had the bright idea to take the girls out to a local church with lots of beautiful flowers and a pond for Easter pictures. I tried the late morning light which was way too harsh, but I came away with a couple of decent pictures. Then I went back late in the afternoon and met my friend Lacey with her girls and neither of us did much good then either. I think the girls were all tired and too interested in the beautiful things around them. But here are a couple of the pictures.

Cookie Monster Voice

Cassidy seems to be drawn to Cookie Monster lately and when she sees him she uses her "monster" voice. I guess because when I say his name I say it like Cookie Monster talks. So you'll have to listen in the video, she does it a little bit at the beginning.

Joy in Laughter

Here is a video of Carolina making Cassidy laugh. I think she was saying "joy" and that is what these times bring. When Cassidy laughs, Carolina is so proud and she will keep on saying something until I stop her. She says all the time how much she loves her "sister lu-lu" or "lu-lu" or "sweet baby". Of course five seconds later she's pushing her or taking her toy, but I think they will really be close.

I also had to show these bows that came in the mail yesterday. I scored them on e-bay for about $14 total with shipping (which came from HongKong, didn't realize). They traveled a long way, but were still here in less than two weeks. There are 10 and they are 4" bows and I got to pick the colors.

Spring Again

The girls sharing a popsicle with Daddy. He loves this!
Love these pj's
Cassidy kept wanting to put on her sister's boots and jacket. I got a really cute video of her I'll put at the end.
The snow wave in our backyard, makes it look like we had a real blizzard. It was only like this in the corner of the fence where it collects.
Lina got buried when she tried to climb the hill
Well, after a nice snow storm this weekend, we are off to a really nice week. Its sunny and not freezing. School is back in session and Lina has spring pictures today. I found her these really cute dresses at Target. Can I just say that their new line: Liberty of London is soooo cute. Its all over the store, stationary, clothing, home. I want it all. Anyway, I think her MawMaw is going to put these in her Easter package.
Also, since the tragedy in Washington D.C. this weekend, let me just say one thing lest I go off on a tangent: A wise and frugal government, which shall leave men free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned - this is the sum of good government. Thomas Jefferson
I will also remind myself of this: GOD IS STILL IN CONTROL!

First Day of Spring

Peanut butter cracker picnic.

Since the first day of Spring brought with it a few inches of snow, we had an art day. We worked in our Jesus Activity Book. Me and some of my friends were talking a while back about how to do Bible lessons for our preschoolers (Tara and Stacey, here's what you need!). Here's a book I found at Mardel full of easy one-page lessons. They had several to choose from. Each one does a very simple craft to go with the story. Usually just requiring some glue, scissors and very basic craft supplies. Today we did sponge painting of "Spring" things, like bugs, sunshine...that remind of us of the happy time when Jesus came alive again!

These are a couple of the lessons we've done last week.
We also made a mobile with our springtime butterflies and Easter egg sparkle stickers. Lina really loved this. We hung it over her bed to "fly in the wind".

I did get some housework done and my sweet husband just called and volunteered to bring home a Hideaway pizza! I am so greatful for fun, productive and restful days.

Easter Time's a Coming

The loot
Here new sundress and bonnet
Look Mom!
We have already decorated for Easter and yesterday the excitement grew when a package from Nana and Pops came full of Easter goodies. Carolina did several rounds of "Easter Hunting" yesterday with our plastic eggs. She has worked through her Easter sticker workbook that tells the real story of Easter. (Mardel has these awsome little sticker, story, activity books for different Bible stories for 1.99). And to top it off MawMaw and PawPaw will be here for Easter! She is so excited.
Cassidy is making lots of progress lately. She is actually using a spoon pretty effectively on certain foods. I havn't worked with her on it, I just give her a spoon or fork with her food and let her experiment. She is like Lina in that she wants to learn these "big" things fast.
Here is a video of her eating her Mac & Cheese.

Bubbles

Here is a video of Cassidy, I just missed her taking the bubble wand up to her mouth and she would just sputter and blow. You can hear her making the sound and then she even tries to say the word. That is a first.
