Back to School

Today was the first day of school. She was a little nervous I could tell, but she was excited. She packed her backpack. Complete with Cat in the Hat, Green Eggs and Ham, dinasours and Pooh. She wanted her special necklace and bracelets and wore them all day. When she got to school the teachers had fun sunglasses for them to wear. She didn't whine or anything, just kissed me and told me she loved me!
I then put on my big girl panties and took the car in for an oil change, lol. They told me I needed a tire rotation and I said we just got new tires 3 mos. ago, then I needed rear differential fluid, then he said we're over due for the 60K tune-up ($465), then he came in and said our battery is testing bad. Ha, I should just buy a new car! I left with only an oil change and he told me when I left that he rechecked the battery and that time it was fine, peculiar? Anyway, Me and Cassidy spent the day in Tulsa. We ate at Steak n Shake and spent a long time at Mardel Christian Store. Love that place! I could spend a fortune in books, videos and toys and thats just on the kids side. By the way, they've got tons of books for 2 for $5. And lots of $5 books and videos. Its inspired me to make Lina and Cassidy Halloween costumes of Bob and Larry (Veggie Tales).  I told Lina and she was not too excited, but wouldn't they be cute. We'll see. It's been a good day.

I'm A Chinese Girl

This is how Carolina wanted to go to Wal-mart this morning. We were about to leave and she really wanted to wear her Chinese dress and these shoes, so I thought why not? I didn't think she'd still be able to get into it, she just grown taller, not bigger. She started running through the house singing "I'm a Chinese girl, I'm a Chinese girl!" She, of course, got lots of compliments and each time you could see how proud she was. She asked the sweet old door-greeter at Skiatook Wal-mart if he thought her dress was pretty. He said it was. It's funny how many conversations it started. The lady handing out samples loved it. She was from Hong-Kong and taught Lina the word they call it. I don't remember it of course. She gave the girls extra samples too because she thought they were so cute. Then on the way out a lady stopped us and told us how she had been able to bring Bibles into China years ago and tell them about Jesus. I told her that a missionary who lives in China sent her this dress. Neat how Jesus can come up when talking about a dress. See Laura,(the giver of the dress) your dress can be a ministry!

Sunday School Swim Party

Here is how good Baptists have fun! We had a swim party with homemade ice cream and cookies. Some volleyball went down to. We have a great time with these people! If you read my blog, but think someone else in class doesn't, just share it with them. I used some "effects" from the Picnik website to get these effects.

Dancing Queen

Here is a video of Cassidy dancing to ChooChoo Soul. She's got some rythm I think! Its a little out of focus, but I didn't want to miss it trying to better my focus. Keep watching until the end and you can see how proud she was of herself.
This girl really needs to work on showing some more expression, lol! We went to Bartlesville and again missed the Kiddie Park being opened, so we went to the playground. The kids loved it. We are supposed to go to the kiddie park in a couple of weeks for a b-day party, hopefully we can make it then, thats the last day.

Gifts of Grace

What is in those pants???
Riding the train together. They made a stop at the Veggie Tales movie.
These are the moments I love, they are really starting to play together so well. I hear Lina telling Cassidy that she loves her right now as I type. Melt my heart. Here Lina is trying to help her put on some very fashionable rain boots to go with her tutu. Cassidy liked looking at herself in the mirror, but the tutu didn't last long. I'm not sure if she'll be as "girly" as Lina, but Lina is going to try her best to make her that way.

This was in front of our house Sunday morning right before a nice rain. Thank you Lord! Look close and you can see 2 rainbows.

My little dress-up queen!

I don't know if you remember when we posted about making the shoebox castle. Well, today we built on, the princesses just had no room! We made a 2-story castle with stairs and a slide. I turned the box inside-out thinking it would be easier to paint the cardboard side, but they just love it like it is. So, I guess we'll keep the Luvs wallpaper.

The princesses playing ring-around-the-rosie outside the palace.

Artisits at Work

Cassidy's work
Lina's work
Here are the girls at work on their painting. I had put a different brush in each paint color to help them keep the colors seperated. It kind of works. Watch how even Cassidy was trying to keep them seperated.
