First Day of Spring

Peanut butter cracker picnic.

Since the first day of Spring brought with it a few inches of snow, we had an art day. We worked in our Jesus Activity Book. Me and some of my friends were talking a while back about how to do Bible lessons for our preschoolers (Tara and Stacey, here's what you need!). Here's a book I found at Mardel full of easy one-page lessons. They had several to choose from. Each one does a very simple craft to go with the story. Usually just requiring some glue, scissors and very basic craft supplies. Today we did sponge painting of "Spring" things, like bugs, sunshine...that remind of us of the happy time when Jesus came alive again!

These are a couple of the lessons we've done last week.
We also made a mobile with our springtime butterflies and Easter egg sparkle stickers. Lina really loved this. We hung it over her bed to "fly in the wind".

I did get some housework done and my sweet husband just called and volunteered to bring home a Hideaway pizza! I am so greatful for fun, productive and restful days.

Easter Time's a Coming

The loot
Here new sundress and bonnet
Look Mom!
We have already decorated for Easter and yesterday the excitement grew when a package from Nana and Pops came full of Easter goodies. Carolina did several rounds of "Easter Hunting" yesterday with our plastic eggs. She has worked through her Easter sticker workbook that tells the real story of Easter. (Mardel has these awsome little sticker, story, activity books for different Bible stories for 1.99). And to top it off MawMaw and PawPaw will be here for Easter! She is so excited.
Cassidy is making lots of progress lately. She is actually using a spoon pretty effectively on certain foods. I havn't worked with her on it, I just give her a spoon or fork with her food and let her experiment. She is like Lina in that she wants to learn these "big" things fast.
Here is a video of her eating her Mac & Cheese.

Bubbles

Here is a video of Cassidy, I just missed her taking the bubble wand up to her mouth and she would just sputter and blow. You can hear her making the sound and then she even tries to say the word. That is a first.

A Week in Pictures

Cassidy loves to put on Lina's shoes
She did this hairdo herself by eating fruit salad, then promptly rubbing her sticky fingers all over her hair.

wrestling with Daddy
This is Lina getting ready to go to church, she wanted me to take her picture and gave a really fake smile
Too cute huh?

Just watching tv together
I had to share a couple of Lina funnies: She has been telling me a lot lately how much she loves her Sissy and she'll say, "Mom, thank you for my little sister".
She wanted a snack today and I said, aren't you full from lunch, you just ate? She responds"I'm only full up to here" and pointed to her knees.
The other day she wanted us all to pretend to fall asleep. She kept shushing us and said you have to sleep until "twice o'clock, no, a hundred, no a million-o'clock".
Oh, Lord thank you for these precious girls!

Worth It All

Cassidy discovered the door bell.
Well, this weekend, after being at that conference, the girls thought I had been gone for a week I think. It seemed like a lot longer to me too. Lance had the video camera rolling when I came in the door and this is just one example of why it's worth being a Mommy!(At the end she is sure to tell me about her accident) There are also some pictures of us celebrating this nice weather, it's warm, but it is also time for those Oklahoma winds to blow our hair off. Anyway, the girls got to play and I finally could realize the vision I had had many times of Lina having a playmate for her little playhouse. Cassidy loved it, they are going to have such a fun spring/summer.

Extraordinary Weekend

Lance suggested a few weeks ago that I go to EWomen's conference and he would watch the girls, so of course my answer was YES! I searched for someone to go with me, but no one could, so I finally decided to go on my own. It turned out kind of nice to be there with just my own thoughts. I did meet some women today from Woodcreek Free Will Baptist in Catoosa. They adopted me for the day and let me eat lunch with them. Thanks ladies. I could go on and on about the awsome music (Mandisa is amazing and so is Jeremy Camp). The speakers were all really good too. I was afraid today would be hard, because I was operating on about 4 or 5 hours sleep, even though Lance tried to let me get more sleep by getting up with Cassidy. But God kept me awake, I never even got sleepy during the conference.
There were lots of points to take home, but my personal "take-away" was hidden in a sentence that one of the event sponsors said while trying to sell his software. It was just God reminding me of a verse that says "Lean not on your own understanding, but in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct you paths." Strange how it wasn't in the great music or amazing speakers, God can speak to us in many ways, its the listening that I have to work on.
Anyway, I am now starting to feel that exhaustion. I hope it makes for a good nights sleep. That peaceful sleep that is so welcomed.
A verse that was shared over and over was Phillipian 4: 4-8. Look it up and lets memorize it if you havn't already. That's my challenge!
I have been prayerfully considering a new blog idea and ask you to pray for my discernment.
And lastly, a praise, we found out today that we don't owe the IRS as much as we thought! Thanks also Stephanie for helping with the girls last night.

This Week

These kids loved the blowers, what cheap fun!
Little fairy Lina strategically devouring her cupcake

Cassidy and Mackenzie discussing the cupcakes.
The girls got to go to a birthday party last week, they both enjoyed it. I couldn't get over how Cassidy and her little friend Mackenzie (same age) were just sitting at the table eating with the "big kids", they would look at each other like they were having their own conversation. They were so good. This week has been busy it seems, I think it's just because Cassidy's naps have gotten messed up several times and she has had a bad case of the sniffles for a couple of nights, so I have been short on my blog time and some sleep. I am however not trying to complain. Lance had to go to a baby funeral this week. It hit him really hard and has made us soooooo thankful to have two beautiful, healthy, sweet girls. Thank you God! I'll gladly loose some sleep to take care of them.
